SUN Adelaide to Alice Springs
Make your own way to the Adelaide Parklands Terminal in time for your 12.30pm departure on board The Ghan. Sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning scenery of central Australia. Overnight: The Ghan

MON Alice Springs 
Arrive in Alice Springs at 1.45pm and make your way to your accommodation. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight: Aurora Alice Springs or similar, 2 nights

TUE Alice Springs 
This morning is at your leisure before your afternoon Highlights of Alice Springs tour. Highlights will include the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the School of the Air, panoramic views from the top of Anzac Hill, the historic Telegraph Station and a visit to the Mbantua Aboriginal Cultural Centre.

WED Alice Springs to Ayers Rock 
Depart Alice Springs this morning. Stop at the Camel Farm and learn about the impact camels had in opening up Central Australia. Perhaps ride a camel (own expense). Pass Atila (Mt Conner) mesa before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. This afternoon visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative. Take a guided walk to the waterhole of Mutitjulu. View Aboriginal cave paintings and hear the legends of Kuniya Tjukurpa (Python Dreaming). Then join your guide and learn about the geology and flora of the region on the Mala Walk and explore fascinating Kantju Gorge. Hear stories about the history of Uluru and ancient bush skills. Late in the afternoon, relax and enjoy a glass of wine while you admire the monolith at sunset. Overnight: Outback Pioneer Hotel or similar, 2 nights

THU Uluru, Ayers Rock (D)
Start early and enter Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park for a tea or coffee as you watch Uluru at sunrise. Travel out to Kata Tjuta, 36 rocky domes on the western edge of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Take a guided walk through Walpa Gorge to see plants so rare they are found nowhere else on Earth. Tonight, enjoy the Sounds of Silence dinner, which starts shortly before sunset. Journey into the desert and enjoy a selection of beverages and delicious outback canapés. At sunset, dine on a barbecue feast of Australian delicacies including kangaroo, emu, crocodile and barramundi. Then relax as an astronomer guide takes you on a fascinating astronomy tour of the night skies.

FRI Ayers Rock to Adelaide/Perth
Relax at the resort this morning, perhaps enjoy an optional excursion, before transferring to Ayers Rock Airport and for your flight home.
